Mother’s Day! Kentucky Derby! NFL Futures and Celtics Playoff! Great, and wildly profitable, weekend. We stayed at the beautiful Pallazzo which has the best sports book we have ever seen. Some of the highlights included:
Betting/winning on potential Triple Crown winner, Big Brown, in the Derby. Also bet him to PLACE in latest victory, which paid better at 2.60 than to WIN at 2.40, as Dan expected given that nearly everyone expected him to win and so the place pool would be better distributed.
Taking our mom out for dinner and Barry Manilow as a Mother’s Day gift.

After having some fun, the Belforti Brothers’ got down to the business of making money, collecting on 2007 NFL futures and reinvesting in 2008 NFL futures. Mark came back ahead by $1400 which was achieved through baseball, basketball and casinos. The bulk of the Mark’s winnings came on a tremendous run in Black Jack.
Dan increased his advantage on Vegas, winning net $2700 on craps, that same run in Black Jack enjoyed by brother Mark and by a huge call on our beloved Celtics who crushed Atlanta in Game 7.

New England Patriots over 12.5 total wins (-120) – Pats should be motivated after losing SB, and spoiling their 1st chance at immortality. This modern day dynasty will feed off of this loss to more clearly be known to be the greatest franchise in the history of the NFL. They also have the 2nd easiest schedule behind SD. They play only 4 teams with winning records in 2008. We are somewhat worried with defensive secondary losses from last year but draft and free agency probably addressed those needs. Team may be even better than last year if key players stay healthy.
Seattle Seahawks +135 to win their division – Even though they lost Shaun Alexander, who has lost a step, they picked up T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones. With Dionne Branch and Hasslebeck healthy again, Seattle easily has the talent to win the weak NFC West division.
Seattle Seahawks over 8.5 wins -155 – NFC West plays the NFC and AFC East Divisions this year. With their own conference and likes of Bills, Jets and Dolphins, we see Seattle going over 9 wins.

On Monday, June 9th, 2008 NFL MVP Tom Brady will be revisiting The International Country Club for the annual Patriots golf day in support of The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation. Brady’s drive of 307 yards won 1st Place amoung his teamates in 2007, the same distance that I made to win our 3 Day Member Guest Tournament last summer. I may suggest to him that we have a “drive off” to establish the amateur International Club Champion.

Beside getting lucky at the blackjack tables, been on a winning streak lately, capped off by my winning The Club Championship this past weekend at The International, B Flight, +1 net. I feel this victory at the handicapped event at the Olympic sized International golf courses will be very special to me always.
Also chalked up a 1st place victory at a recent sit-n-go poker tourney I entered at Foxwoods. Won a golf tourney last month with owner Dan Weadock, Matt & Andrew Campobosso and former Long Drive Champion Brian Pavlet, who said I “carried the team”.
